Erm, no. Not even close to the stupidity of the Apple Mighty Mouse.

The design of this mouse is brilliant, if you call reusable condoms brilliant.

I have to keep my hands tidy when using it, but the trackball still inevitably stops functioning in a week or so. I can’t even begin to add up how much time I wasted “cleaning” the trackball, which in other words means furiously moving it while holding the mouse upside-down, per Apple’s weak “cleaning instructions.” Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore.

So I decided to give it a thorough clean from the inside.

So I opened it.

And the result is shown in the photo above. I broke it.

Alas, design a better mouse, will you Apple?

Update: Now I went back to my good old Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 again. And I’m happier than ever.
Update 2: Actually it took me several minutes to configure the mouse setting, since I lost the original software came with this mouse. After a bit of searching I found this guide which is quite useful for all those who want to use Microsoft keyboard & mouse on Macs. The software is here.
Update 3: The receiver of my Laser Mouse 6000 has some problem. The cursor keeps moving around even when the mouse itself is up-side-down. Worse still, I also ran out of batteries. So I eventually bought a Logitech G5, the best mouse I’ve ever owned. G5 is meant to be a gaming mouse but I found it also great for graphic designs. There’s a in-depth review here from Ars Technica. Notice that in Page 4, the author of this review gave out a solution for G5’s lack of the Mac driver issue.
