I will be away from this site for a week. I will be unable to update any or very few post during this week. Please come back next week.

A great lecture. “He did, however, mention that he experienced a near-deathbed conversion: he switched and bought a Macintosh computer.” →Link | →Link to YouTube Video
Nice thought from Ars. →Link
“Even hardcore partisan political blogs, where people are discussing things of much greater significance than one magazine’s take on The Dark Knight, rarely get this nasty.” →Link

An extremely gross flash-based ads of movie Shutter was spotted in rottentomatoes today. The censorship for those disturbing and gross flash-based (stupid horror)movie ads is clearly dysfunctional, if there’s any censorship at all. See the photo in the link. Warning: gross and disturbing. →Link to the screenshot

I remember back in high school, Kevin Garnett was THE basketball player in my list, even though his team was losing badly. That’s partly because I had some kind of sympathy on him, that his dream was never even close to reality, and neither was mine.

I finally knocked that bully’s ass out. That’s what it felt like.

Garnett said in the conference.

It’s been 6 years since I first watched his game, today his dream has finally come true. Congrats, KG.

In memory of those incredible minds

  • Blaise Pascal  June 19 1623 - Aug 19 1662

Even though he is best known as a mathematician by most, he was also a philosopher at the same time.
His famous work in philosophy is called “Pensées”, a collection of personal thoughts on human suffering and faith in God. Of which, ‘Pascal’s wager’ claims to prove that belief in God is rational with the following argument.
“If God does not exist, one will lose nothing by believing in him, while if he does exist, one will lose everything by not believing.”

fa6b21fe28bb77d2f67bc2c13def917d Tiny Discrete Thought on Morality from a Biological/Anthropological Perspective(Part I)
Introduction

I’ve been meditating everyday throughout my life. All too often the meditation itself ends up with confusion and sometimes frustration. I’m not a smart person as I claim so, I confess. But believe it or not, I eventually come to some concrete thoughts that I thought I may share with you, and by “you” I mean “mankind” or “humanity”.

This may explain my outrageously courteous picks of words here: “Tiny” and “Discrete”. Well, let me make myself clear here before you get mad at me. By the word “Tiny” I mean it’s not a solid theory yet, and perhaps it never will be. It may be deeply flawed in a way that there might exist a lot of seemingly counter examples that I fail to cover up. And by the word “discrete”, I’m saying that my intention of writing this is not to transform myself into a philosopher of any kind, but simply a measure of recording some random thoughts. I have no proof or statistic to back up my argument whatsoever. So read it just for the sake of reading.

The ultimate/essential/most common weakness of mankind is the need/desire to be loved, in other words, the need of having a lover.

The worst thing is, we name this weakness by something called “love” and glorify it.

The divergence of the biological sex leaves us humankind with those weaknesses. The perfection, if any, should be the practice of getting rid of this divergence. That is, we will be much better off with single gender/sex instead of two.

It’s God’s fault, if Darwin is wrong.
